Running Woman Stories
When Did You Know You Were in Love?
Running woman, we want to know, what was the moment you knew you were in love with running?
Running is an amazing thing. It's almost like being in love with another person. I think the New Balance commercials capture this idea well. Here's one I really like.
In fact I think running is just like being in a relationship. Sometimes you love it, sometimes you hate it. And it would be nice to say that running is always there for us, but it's not. Sometimes you have a really awesome run where the runners high kicks in, you look at your suroundings, you're at one with the universe and everything is swell.
But other days, running can be a little moody and no matter how much you fight to get through a run, it just doesn't feel like giving you anything back that day. Other times running fights with us. We decide to push it a little, or we take some time off and when we come back running is insulted so it decides to give us an injury.
That's why it's always good to remember how you as a running woman fell in love, so we can hold onto that memory and the hope of regaining that feeling of being in love when times get a little rocky.
Maybe you even have a song that's "your song" because it was playing one day when you realized that you were in love with running and every time you hear it you want to go up to running, give it a big hug and take it for a nice long trip down your favorite trail where you will experience the big H together.
So what's your running love story? Let's share so we remember and inspire each other!
