It's All About Showing Up

"99% of Life is Showing Up." - Anna Stein in her senior year of college.
I have to remind myself of this all the time.
I'm the average procrastinator who signs up for a course and puts off studying 'till the last minute or signs up for a marathon and gets caught up with life and ends up not training enough.
I tend to follow my muse, so if my muse doesn't inspire me to run or study or write or clean the house or whatever else I'm supposed to do, I don't do it.
Then I'm left with the aftermath of running a marathon without having trained for it.
At that point I think to myself, if I had just showed up for my daily runs instead of always psyching myself up for something I never followed through on like, "Speed Training," I would be so much more prepared for this.
Instead all those daily runs I didn't show up for have accumulated into a marathon I'm not at all prepared to run.
You know that feeling?
"The miracle isn't that I finished. The miracle is that I had the courage to start."
-John Bingham, running speaker and writer
