Running Stroller vs. Normal Stroller

I am 4 months pregnant and am starting to think about registering items for my baby shower. I really would like a running stroller, but know that they can be pricey. If I did splurge for the running stroller would I still need to purchase a normal stroller for everyday use? I have been researching running strollers that come with car seats and adapters, but don't know if it would just be easier to purchase two separate strollers.

Any thought or comments would be greatly appreciated!

Good ability to maneuver the crowded streets is almost the most salient point in selecting the stroller for you! Plastic wheels are better for the smoothly constructed road, and tyred wheels will be better for the pebble-like roads))

Love our Bob(s)!

We got a Bob runner when our first daughter was roughly 4 months old, she is now almost 3 and we all still love it. I was reluctant in thinking it would replace our regular (Bugaboo) stroller but we went everywhere in the Bob. Not only did we run regularly but it easily maneuvered the crowded streets, shops and subway systems of NYC. We just had our second daughter and bought a double Bob as soon as we found a coupon through REI. If you run and are otherwise on the go, I highly recommend going for a running stroller.

running stroller VS regular

My experience Brooklyn NY is that you my want to have a running stroller with a swiveling front wheel if you want to be able to get around the small stores without too much of a struggle. the infant adapter are great and you can that way avoid to spend you hard gained $$ on too many baby items. The umbrella stroller to travel is better anyway to get in the subway or airport etc...

Jogging stroller was good enough for us.

My son is now three years old and I have always used the jogging stroller for pretty much everything. The only other stroller I bought was a light umbrella stroller when he was older and we were traveling. I love having my jogging stroller all the time, it gets me to run more. I will run errands with it, run to the grocery store, fill the bottom up with groceries and run home, etc., it makes me run more. And in the winter, my neighbor has borrowed it to run errands, because her normal stroller wheels couldn't handle the snow.

So yeah, I would recommend a jogging stroller if you are only going to get one stroller and maybe just a cheap light stroller for when you're going places that are too tight for the jogging stroller.
