Running Therapy

Reservoir in Central Park
In the summer of last year, I was depressed because I had a crappy fast food job. One afternoon my aunt asked me if I wanted to come run with her.
As we ran up the beautiful hills of Central Park, all I could think about was how my life sucked, but amazingly as we reached the sixth mile, I felt high and free like anything was possible.
My job suddenly didn't seem important in the larger scope of life and the many things that were open to me, and I skipped home knowing that anything was possible with effort and determination.
Now I know that whenever I need a break from life, I can run and feel that exhilarated high!
