Books about Running | Sole Sisters: Stories of Women and Running This is a book of short stories about running women of all different ages who started running at all different times in their lives. It is so inspiring to read and realize that you can be great at running no matter when you start. My favorite story is about a nun who started running 2 miles a day when she was 48 and became an incredibly fast runner. Many of the stories show the bond that woman can have through running together. |
Born to Run: A Hidden Tribe, Superathletes, and the Greatest Race the World Has Never Seen The author really captures the passion of running while writing about the Tarahumara tribe in Mexico. They are the worlds real runners, everyone in the tribe runs because they enjoy it and they can run all day with a huge smile on there face. This book takes a look at humans as being a natural running people, it shows how our bodies are built to run. Many who have read this book (including me) have decided to take the leap and go barefoot to be more natural and more like the Tarahumara tribe. |
Movies about running |
"Run Forest Run!" How many times have you heard that! This is a fictional movie that follows a boy (Tom Hanks) through his life as he ends up in all kinds of true historical events starting somewhere around the 60's. It is so well done, so inspiring and so incredibly entertaining. I watch this movie every chance I get. The scene when he runs non-stop for 3 years, well that is at the top of my bucket list! |
A totally inspiring movie that follow runners getting ready for the Chicago Marathon. From the first time Marathoner to the elite runner tyring to win the marathon, this movie lets you see the ups and downs of training and running a marathon. I cried while watching this movie because I was so inspired and in awe of what many of these people go through to complete the ultament runners dream of the Marathon. |
